AI Decision Journal

Ideas from ChatGPT, rewrites in Claude, research in Gemini. The more you switch between AIs, the harder it is to tell later what came from where and why you kept it. Keep a short result, reason and next action for each project, export it as Markdown, and hand the whole story to the next AI or a colleague. Entries are stored only in this browser.

1 — PROJECT

2 — RECORD

⌘/Ctrl + Enter also works

3 — ENTRIES IN THIS PROJECT

4 — EXPORT

Entries are listed oldest first. Paste the Markdown as the opening message to the next AI you use, or as a hand-over note to a colleague. The CSV opens in Excel and Google Sheets (UTF-8 with BOM).

How to Use

  1. Create a projectName it after the client or the job. You can have as many projects as you like and switch between them in the box above. To try it first, “Add a sample project” shows what entries look like.
  2. Write three short lines each time you use an AIPick the AI you used, fill in “Result”, “Why” and “Next action”, and press “Add entry”. Fix any entry later with “Edit” or “Delete” in the list.
  3. Export and hand over“Copy Markdown” copies the whole story so far; give it to the next AI or to a colleague instead of explaining everything again. Save as CSV to keep a list in a spreadsheet.

About This Tool

A notebook for why you made each call when a job uses several AIs. Draft ideas in ChatGPT, polish the wording in Claude, check facts in Gemini — and soon what came from which AI, and why you kept it, is spread across chat histories you cannot easily search. Here each use is one entry with three parts: result, why, and next action. You keep the decision rather than the whole conversation, so it stays short when you read it weeks later or hand it to another AI.

Entries are stored only in this browser. They go into the browser’s localStorage and are never sent to a server. That also means they are not shared with other devices or browsers, and they disappear if you clear browsing data (cookies and site data) or close a private window. Export anything important as Markdown or CSV from “4 — Export” to keep a copy. If you edit in two tabs of the same browser, the other tab reloads the changes automatically.

Export formats. The Markdown uses the project name as the heading and lists entries oldest first, each with a “date title (AI tool)” heading and the three parts; empty parts are left out. The CSV has one row per entry with the columns Project, Date, AI tool, Title, Result, Why and Next action. It is written as UTF-8 with a BOM so Excel shows non-English text correctly, and values starting with = + - @ get a leading ' so a spreadsheet does not run them as formulas.

Kept to what one person needs. There is no review or approval, no automatic scoring by AI, no team sharing or permissions, and no notifications. Limits are 200 projects, 2,000 entries per project and 4,000 characters per field (browser storage is shared with the other tools on this site, so it is not meant for many thousands of entries).
